Thomas B. Walsh
Thomas B. Walsh obtained a B.S. from the University of South Carolina in 1987, and graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1991. He is licensed and experienced in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and in the Federal Court system. In addition to defending clients in a wide array of criminal and traffic matters at the State, Federal and Appellate levels, Mr. Walsh is also one of two attorneys in the firm who is qualified lead counsel on death penalty cases in Virginia and Federal Court.
Mr. Walsh has handled 5 capital murder trials, including the highly publicized trial of Commonwealth of Virginia v Lee Boyd Malvo (The DC Sniper)
Along with his partner, Mark Petrovich, Mr. Walsh has twice been a featured speaker at the Annual Capital Defense Seminar. He is also an active member of the Virginia and Fairfax County Bar Associations, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Walsh has been elected by his fellow peers as a Top Lawyer in Northern Virginia in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 concerning Defending Criminal Crimes and Criminal White Collar Crimes, as publised in The Northern Virginia Magazine.
Mr. Walsh has been featured in an episode of A&E Kids Behind Bars and Washingtonian Magazine — Terror in October: A Look Back at DC Sniper Attacks. Mr. Walsh was an integral member of the Fairfax County Bar Association Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS). He served during the inception as a committee member, assisting with evaluating the qualifications of criminal defense attorneys seeking to join the service to consult the public through LRIS. This valuable oversight has helped to ensure the ongoing integrity and competency of legal representation provided to our community through LRIS.
